DIRECTOR OF SALES

THE ROLE
As Director of Sales at Burgiss, you will lead the entire sales function for Burgiss. This newly-created role will focus on driving new revenues by promoting Burgiss solutions to new and existing customers, which include private capital asset owners and asset managers. Responsibilities will include direct line management of Sales Executives and working closely with the Executive Management team to ensure that the firm’s objectives, goals and sales targets are met and exceeded. This includes planning and implementing the firm’s sales strategy in North America and internationally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage, evaluate and develop sales staff while assuring that sales/closing objectives are met
- Facilitate communication within the sales team and to other parts of the company
- Actively manage team member activities including pipeline management, progress on sales volume, calculating commission and so on
- Develop and implement a plan to double the volume of closed sales to existing customer market
- Secure and maintain a 95% renewal rate
- Work with Marketing and Product teams to implement thematic sales campaigns
- Support relationships with larger, more complex clients
- Develop and implement a plan to successfully sell into adjacent markets

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience and 4+ years of experience managing a sales team
- Proven track record of success in sales (i.e. revenue generation) with significant relevant sales experience to major financial institutions
- Has a successful track record of selling IP-rich products and selling ‘new’ products
- Has experience in structuring complex licensing arrangements with data service providers
- Outstanding communicator (written and verbal) with excellent time management, project management and people management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience within private equity preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics CRM would be advantageous
